Description
You better call Dr. Grant because we have a T'Rex! If you thought our previous robot chassis was muscular and robust, then you haven't seen this. The T'Rex Chassis is a robot / off-road platform designed to handle the most extreme driving conditions possible! This chassis offers the best of both worlds: It takes very little time to go from un-boxing to rolling chassis, but it is also ready to be expanded and makes the ideal base for serious robots. The T'Rex chassis is equipped with two independently driven 12V gearmotors with a typical rated current of 4A (no load at 1.3A and stall current at 11A with a 5000mAh LiPo battery). Each motor drives a tread that offers three low wheels that help improve traction and reduce shock to the main body and controller. On this note: gears, tracks, suspension struts and wheels are all made of die-cast zinc, which offers a good dose of corrosion resistance while reducing the constant need for maintenance and storage. Inside the aluminum body of the T'Rex chassis you will find plenty of space for motor control, batteries, sensors, and anything else that might need space. Two top panels can be easily removed through four snap hooks mounted between the wheels. In addition, the hinged front cover plate can be removed to attach any large sensor (s) to your T'Rex, you can also attach a custom plate to suit your preferences (we are waiting to see someone 3D print a T - Rex head and connect it to one of these, guys)! Since the chassis has a full aluminum body that blocks all electrical noise and radio signals, you will need to connect any receiver or transmitter outside the T'Rex. We recommend using the T'Rex motor controller (not included) with this chassis, T'REX controller.
